Garland Blocker
            Garland Blocker resides in Seminole, OK with his wife Jennifer. Garland is a talented banjo virtuoso who has been playing his instrument for the past thirteen years. Garland has been the member of many of Oklahoma’s great regional bluegrass bands including IIIrd Generation and Boggy River. In Southern Tradition, Garland sings lead, baritone, and tenor. Garland is also an accomplished guitar, mandolin, and bass player. Garland also adds a superb talent of songwriting to his musical abilities.
            Whenever Garland is not performing music, he is employed as a bricklayer in the Oklahoma City area. Garland is a Pottawatomie Indian and recently, Garland and Glen Bonham have discovered that they are third cousins. This discovery has added a family element to Southern Tradition.

Melvin Stephens
            Melvin Stephens lives in Atoka, OK where he and his brother take care of their father and grandmother. Melvin has been playing the mandolin for nine years and he capitalizes on the old traditional style of mandolin playing. Melvin also plays the bass and some guitar. Melvin is also an accomplished brass instrument player and has participated in several state honor bands throughout high school. Melvin has played with several bands throughout his short career including Ed and Jolene and The Stephens Boys.
            Currently, Melvin is a senior at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and is only a few hours short of obtaining a B.A. in English. He is also an accomplished rancher and works as a carpenter when the music or ranch work allows time.

Billy Stephens
            Billy Stephens lives in Atoka, OK where he and his brother take care of their father and grandmother. Billy has been playing the bass for four years. Billy also plays the Autoharp. Billy is also an accomplished brass instrument player and has participated in several state honor bands throughout high school. Billy has played with several bands throughout his short career including Ed and Jolene and The Stephens Boys.
Currently, Billy is a junior at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and is pursuing a B.A. in English. Billy is also an accomplished rancher.
